Museum Associates to Help Fund Improvements in Radeke Garden

February 25, 2023 -- The Museum Associates recently voted unanimously to pass a motion to contribute $15,000 to help fund improvements in the RISD Museum's Radeke Garden. The money will be used to contribute to new plantings and masonry work executed by Ground Flora, run by Eugenie Najjar. The Museum Associates have a longstanding relationship with the Radeke Garden, and endowed a fund in the 1980s to specifically support that endeavor. While the Museum handles the general maintenance of the garden, the Museum Associates have funded special projects over the years, including the 2019 addition of new garden furniture to make the garden more accessible and inviting to visitors and RISD classes. The Associates are proud to work closely with the Museum on this outstanding resource.

Annual Spring Fundraiser a Big Success!

Conversation and Cocktails with Katy Hessel, our 67th Annual Spring Fundraiser, brought great energy to the RISD Museum! Art historian Katy Hessel offered thoughtful provocation from her book, The Story of Art Without Men, and guests were invited to take their own specially curated tour (gorgeously put together by Interim Director Sarah Ganz Blythe and design directed by Derek Schusterbauer) of works by women artists in the RISD Museum. Fun cocktails and hors d'ouevres in the Grand Gallery followed, with Katy signing tons of her books, and the Haikuists offering guests on-the-spot haikus. Over $80,000 was raised to benefit the RISD Museum.

J.McLaughlin Events Raise Over $1,800!

J.McLaughlin kindly offered the RISD Museum Associates the opportunity to host three "sip and shops" with 15% of sales going to the RISD Museum Associates to benefit the RISD Museum. We held events in the Providence, Watch Hill, and Newport stores and had a blast! In Newport, Black River Caviar joined the fun and donated 15% of their sales as well. Altogether, we raised over $1,800 and have some great new items in our wardrobes!
